I had the LRA 33-gallon replacement tank installed on my 2023 Tacoma TRD Off-Road on 8/14/26. Rather than review it immediately, I tracked four fuel cycles through 9/15/26 to see how it performed in real-world use, particularly the fuel gauge, Distance to Empty (DTE), and actual range. Over those four cycles, I drove 1,425.7 miles and added 81.086 gallons, for a combined calculated average of 17.58 MPG. My longest documented cycle was 483.9 miles, after which the truck took 26.129 gallons, meaning I had not used the full 33-gallon capacity. Based on my measured fuel economy, roughly 500 miles of practical range is achievable under similar driving conditions. One concern I had before purchasing was how the factory fuel gauge would work with the larger tank. It has actually been surprisingly accurate and useful. As an example, during my fourth cycle I stopped with the gauge around half after 249.6 miles, and it took 14.557 gallons to refill—very reasonable for a 33-gallon tank. The biggest thing prospective buyers should understand is the DTE display. Don’t expect it to show 500+ miles after filling up. Mine generally shows a full-tank estimate in the mid-300s, so DTE does not reflect the tank’s true range potential. The actual mileage, gallons used, and fuel gauge tell the story much better. After four documented cycles, I’m very happy with the purchase. It doesn’t improve MPG—it dramatically improves range and reduces how often I have to stop for fuel. My advice is to give the truck several fuel cycles before judging the DTE and track your actual mileage and gallons used. For me, the LRA 33-gallon tank was absolutely worth it, and I would purchase it again.

5/5 Stars ⭐️ Ultimate peace of mind for long trips. Upgrading my Tacoma’s stock 18-gallon tank to LRA’s 33-gallon extended tank was worth every penny. Going from ~300 miles of range to almost 600 changes the game entirely—no more constant gas station stops or sloshing jerry cans mounted on the rack. The craftsmanship on the tank is outstanding, and the install fits clean under the truck without compromising clearance. If you travel remote or overland. This is a must-have upgrade 🏔️

I love this tank. With 93 octane gas, my truck has over 550 mile range. I would have given 5 stars—There is a big problem—and it is a well-known problem with 2025 and up model years—you can’t reprogram the Instrument Panel Cluster module (IPC) as the instructions state. (Forscan) is supposed to be user provided—but, every one in the know, knows it doesn’t work. Older trucks, and International trucks Forscan still works changing the capacity in the IPC. You have to change the tank capacity in the ECM and find a damned good tuner that can do it. If not, your distance to empty, miles per gallon, and empty warnings are all wrong. There is a guy in Texas, Stanghi.com that can tune the ECM, just like an engine tune, over the air on the HP Tuner suite. It works perfect after. I think the manufacturer should have mentioned this before I purchased. It was a royal pain to find somebody that could do it, and that shop above I think is the only shop that can do it as of yet.

Hi, iv'e had my fuel tank from Long Range America a little over a year. Iv'e filled up both tanks ( stock and auxiliary ) multiple times for trips. And i absolutely love it! I love the construction. Steel not plastic. And also the fact that i can transfer fuel while driving. I have a 2025 Jeep Gladiator and can get upwards of 650 miles per fill up. I would recommend "Long Range America" to anyone looking for auxiliary fuel tanks.

Very solid and well built tank. Installation instructions was easy to follow and straight forward. Over 30k miles now and no issues as long as the breather hoses are routed as per the instructions. The only improvement I suggest is to conceal the drain plug.

Purchased a tank for my Tundra. It is my primary road trip and camping vehicle. The stock tank required frequent stops for fueling up. With 37” tires and gear the fuel mileage wasn’t great. However nearly doubling my range with LRA it saved a lot of time on trips and peace of mind. I’m definitely going to get one for my FJ80.
